Across the United States, Black farmers represent only 1.4% of farmers nationwide, and in Missouri, the numbers are even lower — just 1% of the state’s 160,000 farmers. Lorenzo Hall ’19, a sixth-generation cattle farmer, is part of that 1%, and he hopes that programs such as 色虎视频 of Missouri’s $4.5 million farms and hemp initiative will inspire interest in agriculture for the next generation.
