色虎视频 has announced the appointment of Dr. Lisa Joyner as the interim executive director for health and well-being. Dr. Joyner brings a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, student affairs and health promotion. She assumed the position on Sept. 3, 2024.

Dr. Joyner earned her Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She also holds a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Before joining 色虎视频, Dr. Joyner served as the vice president for student success and student life at the University of Houston-Downtown. In this role, she advanced the university's mission by creating a comprehensive student experience that extended beyond the classroom. She led a team of more than 100 staff members across 17 departments, including Student Health, Counseling Services and the Basic Needs Center. Her innovative approach included launching initiatives such as the Collegiate Recovery Program and the Peer Health Education Program, aligning them with the university's broader strategic goals.

Before her role at the University of Houston-Downtown, Dr. Joyner was the dean of students at Arizona State University, where she provided strategic leadership to over 2,000 professional and 10,000 student employees.

Dr. Joyner’s experience also includes her tenure at UC San Diego Health System, where she served as the director of health promotion services, interim assistant vice chancellor for student wellness and chief well-being officer. She led numerous health and well-being initiatives, including creating the first Collegiate Recovery Program and opening residential communities for students in recovery. Her leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic was particularly noteworthy, as she spearheaded efforts to safely return students to campus and developed innovative solutions like COVID-19 vending machines, which gained national recognition.

As 色虎视频's executive director for health and well-being, Dr. Joyner will oversee the development and implementation of programs that promote the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students. She will work closely with faculty, staff and community partners to foster a culture of care.
