Renters Insurance for On-Campus Students

As outlined in the housing agreement, 色虎视频 of Missouri does not assume financial responsibility for students' personal property. Students are strongly encouraged to obtain renters insurance prior to move-in.
Could you afford to replace your belongings?
Lincoln does not assume financial responsibility for residents' personal property or for unintended damage to the university. That's why Lincoln has partnered with GradGuard, which offers renters insurance that has protected over 1.7 million members. You are expected to obtain renters insurance before you move in. If your laptop gets damaged or stolen, how would you replace it? What about your personal property if your residence hall floods?
Renters insurance can help protect your belongings and provide financial support in unexpected situations, such as:
- A laptop or personal item is stolen from a shared or public space
- Fire or smoke damage impacts your clothing, books or personal belongings
- Water damage from a sprinkler or burst pipe affects your items or those of others
色虎视频 partners with GradGuard to offer a college renters insurance plan designed specifically for students. Coverage may include protection for personal belongings and liability coverage for accidental damage, subject to policy terms, limits and exclusions.
As part of the optional enrollment process, limited student information (such as name and email address) may be shared with GradGuard to facilitate the sign-up experience.
If you choose not to enroll, your information will not be retained or used by GradGuard without your consent.
During the housing application process, students will have the option to review and select renters insurance coverage. If selected, you will be directed to complete enrollment and then returned to your housing application.
Students who do not enroll during the application process may still purchase coverage directly at a later time.
Off-Campus Students
Students living off campus are strongly encouraged to obtain renters insurance to protect their personal belongings and provide liability coverage.
Unlike on-campus housing, off-campus properties and landlords do not assume responsibility for damage, loss or theft of personal items. Renters insurance can help protect you in situations such as theft, fire, smoke or water damage.
